Spain

The leading holiday destination for the Brits is Spain. It has been a favourite choice for decades.

The perennial big-hitters are the islands of:

  •  Ibiza

  •  Menorca

  •  Mallorca

  •  Majorca

I really enjoy going to Majorca. It has been my family holiday destination on multiple

occasions. Majorca is great thanks to its:

  •  Breathtaking scenery

  •  Delectable cuisine

  •  Sunny escape

  •  Stunning beaches and coves

The British holidaymakers who are after a year-round sunshine visit the Canary Islands,

including La Palma, La Gomera, and Tenerife. Costa de la Luiz is the most popular mainland

beach, while Catalonia is the most beautiful coastline holiday destination for most Brits.

Spain has more to offer than just beaches. Magda also recommends self-guided walking, city

breaks, and cycling holidays in popular destinations like Seville, Palma, and Catalonia.

Italy

Why Italy? Ancient culture, friendly and charming people, and fantastic food are all the main

reasons why the Brits visit Italy. Want to taste la dolca vita? Visit popular cities such as Venice,

Florence, and Rome. After an extra old-school glamour dash? Venice should be your next

destination. It is popular among British holidaymakers who are after an additional dash of

ancient glamour. Experts recommend visiting Venice out of season. This helps sidestep the

crowds.

For beach lovers, Italy boasts about 500 miles of coastline in Puglia’s southern region. Tuscany

is equally popular and overcrowded. But family villas can make your holiday memorable. Italy’s

Sicily Island effortlessly blends historical sites with gorgeous coastlines. High-end and

glamorous villas are available. The country’s stunning beaches are available in Sardinia. Amalfi

Coast is a perfect base from which the Brits visit Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, Capri and Sorrento.

France

France isn’t short of new destinations to explore. Want to explore the coastline? Or the

countryside? Your destination doesn’t matter. Aquitaine is the perfect destination for:

  •  Sandy beaches

  •  Delicious seafood

  •  Surfing

Brits also enjoy historic villages, cycle paths, and pine forests in Ile de Re. Beaches of Corsica

are highly recommended destinations.

Portugal

Portugal features a glorious countryside, great food, historic cities, super-friendly and charming

residents as well as attractive beaches. It is easy to see why Portugal is the fourth most popular

family holiday destination for British holidaymakers. A firm favourite is Algarve. Alentejo is

also a popular destination among both residents and visitors. Madeira is the favourite island for

many Brits.

Thailand

Thailand continues with its meteoric rise in terms of attracting British holidaymakers. It’s

becoming a mainstream holiday favourite with each passing day. Its appeal is obvious:

  •  Low prices

  •  Friendly residents

  •  Sensational food

  •  White sand beaches

  •  Lush countryside

Infused with Buddhist ideals, Thailand also features a unique cultural heritage. Its capital,

Bangkok, fizzes with a lot of excitement and energy. Most Brits love Chiang Mai in the north.

Phuket, one of its popular islands, attracts the most attention.
